|2010-02-26 22:46:23 Diane GalpinHello Ian
thankyou for getting back to me.
I am the daughter of Elizabeth, and the half sister of her son Stephen, I am unsure if Stephen has any idea of my existence so this might be a bit of a shock! I was born in Plymouth in 1960 and adopted, my birth name was Susan Evans.
I am hoping to find out some more information about Elizabeth, and Stephen if this is okay with him.
Any information you might have would be greatfully received and I am very happy to share what info I have. I went to New Zealand in November 2009 and met Elizabeths 1st cousin Roger, who was the son of Leon Couchman, Cyrils brother, so have some info re the New Zealand side of the Couchman family.
I look forward to hearing from you
best wishes

|2010-08-31 03:50:41 Helen Bain - William Lee Kirby (Kerby)I saw a listing of the name William Lee Kerby in the list of European Tombs in Ooty up to 1904. William was a tea planter somewhere in Coonoor and two of his children were baptised in All Saints Church Coonorr in 1879 & 1883.
I was hoping someone might be able to help me with information regarding his headstone and any legible inscription on it. I don't know when he died - early 1900's possibly.

|2012-01-29 10:53:35 Blair - Kennet GardinerCliff,
I understand that my great grand father owned Gatsherrie in Bangalore. However, we do not know of Annie as my grandfathers sister was known by the name of Mavis. It is beleived that it was Mavis who sold the property following the death of my great grand parents.
I would be most interested for any information you may have on the Kennet Gardiner line. Anecdotal family stories hold that my great grandfather married twice. I wonder if Gatsherrie still stands?
Kind regards
Blair

This is very interesting. I hold a copy letter from Walter Brookman Kennet Gardiner, the address is Gartsherrie Whitefield South India. I understand Whitefield is part of Bangalore. This letter was dated July 1932.
In our (Son, Daughter-in-law and myself) trip to India we hope to establish if Gartsherrie still stands.
